"Chronic pains of the body which cannot easily be explained as injury or infection, should first and foremost be interpreted as signals of chronic water shortage in the area where the pain is registered. These pain signals should first be considered and excluded as primary indicators for dehydration of the body before any other complicated procedures are forced on the patient."
- Dr F Batmanghelidj The human body is a bio-electrical water machine that requires a quart a day for every 50 lbs of body weight. The blood alone is made up of a large percentage of watery serum. The lymph fluids which transport waste and nutrients, comprising four times the volume of blood in the body, are made from the water we consume. Every cell that makes us who we are literally owes its life to an adequate supply of fresh, clean water... This article was written by Food Matters <-- click Nelumbo Lutea (American lotus)
Nelumbo is Ceylonese and means “sacred bean.” Lutea is Dead Latin for yellow. There is a high concentration of these sacred plants right here in Toledo (Cullen Park). This one happened to grow in an outdoor waterpot filled with rain water. The Nelumbo Nucifera is the famous Asian lotus. There are numerous health and medicinal benefits of this plant. Juicing.
The colors are beautiful. The tastes are fabulous. The nutrient content is top notch. The energy boost is exhilarating. The people drinking it are happy. The result...refreshed! Juicing..is so many things. "Kid's don't like vegetables!"
Have you heard this statement before? It gets thrown around quite freely. Actually, on the contrary, kids love vegetables. It's all about their experience. An 18-month old may not grab a kale leaf and eat it raw at first sight, but you can definitely get him to like kale or any other vegetable if you expose him when he is young. It's all about experience, and experience produces a memory, a memory engrained. Presentation is key as well. Eating should be fun and engaging. Take for example the children in the above pictures. What are they doing? They (7 year-old boy, 4 year-old girl, 10 year-old girl) are juicing. What are they juicing? Carrots, celery and apples. And they loved the taste! So whoever said kid's don't like vegetables was undoubtedly wrong! When I first started drinking coffee, I gradually increased myself to many cups per day but when we conducted our first Reboot, and we couldn't have any caffeine, I had a terrible headache, very terrible. It lasted for at least two full days. So I decided that I had to reduce my coffee consumption and I resolved to only have two cups of coffee per day and to see if the next time we do a Reboot, could I avoid the headache? Well, sure enough, the next time we did a Reboot I avoided the headache. I did not have even a little headache. So, I've stuck with two cups of coffee per day since then and I am doing just fine!
JH President, Virginia Slattery For info on Reboots, check out Joe's Reboot Yes, it’s true. Yours truly, a juice house representative is addicted to pre-packaged foods. Before I divulge what foods i’m talking about, allow me to explain why pre-packaged food is both the best and the worst things you could possibly eat. There’s a strange habit these days (and by “these day’s” I mean all of human history) where people are constantly trying to reinvent something that doesn’t really need to be reinvented. Let’s consider 3 very common items: mops, blankets, and chopsticks. A mop is something you use to clean the floor (or if you’re hip to the latest technology in floor dirt removal, a swiffer). But did you ever see a baby scooching its way across the floor and have the feeling that maybe that little human could be doing some work!...No? Me neither, but someone did, and made a onesie with integrated mop threads. ~*cough-cough*~ child labor laws ~*cough-cough*~. Other such useless inventions include the ever popular Snuggie, that turned the hum-drum blanket into an awkward sweater-like contraption with ugliness rivaling that of holiday sweaters and your uncle Fred’s too-tight cargo shorts. Then There’s the chopstick fan. I’m not sure if this is actually real. Let’s forget that it exists :-) Coming back to pre-packaged food - there are two categories:
So let’s talk about the sugar factor. Some people have argued that fruit has just as much sugar as junk food. Well, let’s look at some facts from the USDA regarding soft drinks vs. bananas: As you can see, you would need to eat about 3 bananas to get the sugar content of 1 soft drink, which I do regularly consume in one sitting. But wait a minute, there’s a lot more than just sugar in bananas. Banana’s are high in potassium, vitamin B-6, and even have some protein. The soft drink on the other hand has 0 nutritional value, which means it’s really not doing anything for you, your energy levels, and your overall health and well being.
So go eat some pre-packaged food of the fruit variety. Eating fruit will make you feel better, and it’s delicious, inexpensive, and full of stuff that will help your immune system stay strong, help your mind be clearer, and will give you real energy to attack the things in your life that really require your attention.
